Earlier this month I briefly awoke and peeked outside to see this super-bright star staring at me … Only it’s not a star and it’s not staring at me. The slow, growing brightness of the the dawn filled in over the next hour. It was beautiful and I never did get back to sleep. According to search: "In August, Venus shines brightly in the eastern sky during the morning s, often referred to as the "morning star." It reaches its highest point above the horizon early in the month and is visible alongside Jupiter, especially during their close conjunction on August 11 and 12." Space, Astronomy Magazine
